So it is inevitable that i must be at a festival this year, but with such a handful of good ones happening i find myself torn. ahh I heard terrible things that Glastonbury tickets are non existent any more, dead in the ground, never going to get one sort of thing which makes me want to weep as it was there what 25th anniversary soo the line-up is going to be pretttyyy awesome.
Was having banter with some girls from work discussing festivals and making little dreams of all promising ourselves to all go. Isle Of Wight Festival is looking at me with a line-up involving The Strokes, Blondie and Florence (and her machine).
Reading is out of the equation as last night year several shenanigans went down…
1. The tent got high jacked, but not the door. (ahh thanks iv always wanted to sleep on a tent door, thanks)
2. Everyone there was either obsessed with cats, or thought they were one.
3. If I hear Red Army shortly followed by Green Army ill cry.
Wow I really am selling Reading to you, I fact that I slept through Radiohead makes me hate Reading, you see I thought I’d have enough time for a power nap, this wasn’t a power nap may I add I awoke to the last drum noise of Radiohead’s last song.

 Look 1:
The UNIQUE hawaiian shirt is abit comical which i adore (you dont know whether to laugh or just cry) pieced with a pair of beige tailored high waisted trousers. Look 2:
The collection from RICHARD NICOLL is so beautiful the tailored look never dies, so when my eyes clapped onto his wonderful collection i felt that my purse would feel the strain come Friday. However i would be looking like a trendy kiddie.
Look 3:
TOPSHOP dress i wouldn't possibly go this s/s without a maxi dress i love my stips so this is perfecto.

Does The Mind Rule The Body

Deconstruction no matter where i go, or what i do it always seems to follow me. I dont think of this as a bad thing of course because its a way of creating new and different things.
With having another project presented to me with the inevitably "deconstruction" as the theme i wanted to create something which was more thought provoking rather than just cutting up a shirt and pieceing it back together in a different form.

As me and ma sis want to work together we wanted to show that we could collaborate using 2 minds rather than one and show that it wouldnt be a total disaster.
So we got talking, had some banter with college teachers and came up with the idea of baseing it on a film called "What Ever Happen To Baby Jane?" a 1962 american psychological horror film. The silk baby-doll dresses, ribbon waistbands and lace detail worn in the film is my inspiration for this project 'deconstruction' which i want to exaggerate because nobody likes 'plain jane' .

Im currently working on the project, so far i have brought a child size dress for £7 (which has once im sure be worn for a cinderella theme birthday party) completely taken it apart and have played around with it to get different shapes and textures. As its going to be a collaboration we decided to make a half and half outfit (i will find the word for that one day) When all is complete because everything is a little vague atm i will post pictures of designs and 'before' and 'after' shots of deeee dress.

Alexa Chung For Madewell

Alexa Chung For Madewell`s Fall 2010 collection. It represents Alexa Chung 100%, the collection showing signs of peter pan collars, sweeping knee-length skirts, and slim trousers. And of course you couldnt and wouldnt have a collection designed by alexa chung without the all important brogues and this fall`s must haves.. the clogss!!

The collection is said to be inspired by a "sweet school girl simplisity mixed with a 1970s countryside" i havent any plans to be jetting off to NYC any time soooon, but hopefully it will be able to use at home on are laptops.. a girl can dream.

.

Stuuupid mehh. I didnt make a post about Celine`s Spring 2010 ready to wear collection. Atleast i didnt think i did... if i did then your lucky, because your getting two.

This collection caught my eye for several reasons. I adore the colours used the camels, beiges and of course the whites, and blacks. I know most of the collection are two garments to one outfit but i think they look strong and the use of one colour adds to that, anything over the top would have made it sickly. The skin coloured long sleeved fitted top is also very lovely, something so plain but yet very affective.

Slightly venturing onto something else youde be glad to know i am now rightfully a owner of a sewing machine (which was along time overdue) and with loads of garments wanting to be made i find myself torn between the leather t-shirt, or a doll-like dress. Ummm .. seeing this collection makes me want to make the leather t-shirt.

G.E.N.I.U.SSS--aaa

Leigh Bowery, a performance artist, club promoter, actor, pop star, model and fashion designer. No rest for the wicked i guess? The moving picture just shows us what he`s all about. I love how eccentric he is, he doesn`t do anything by halves. Im not one for use of colour, but this is totally an exception i think if your going to use colour, then USE COLOUR.
